ABSTRACT
Retrograde insertion of a stent into the ureter is commonly performed by the pediatric urologist. It is a simple procedure but occasionally and unexpectedly can be difficult. This chapter describes the retrograde technique. Antegrade stenting is an alternative to the retrograde method, but requires puncture of the collecting system, and is usually in the realm of the interventional radiologist.
