ABSTRACT

Minimal access partial nephrectomy is a procedure commonly performed in children for pathology related to duplex kidney and, on rare occasions, for polar pathology in a singleton system. It can be performed using a transperitoneal as well as an extraperitoneal/retroperitoneoscopic lateral or posterior approach. It is performed as an isolated excision or involving a partial or complete ureterectomy and, on occasions, involving also ureterocelectomy with lower moiety ureteric re-implantation.
