ABSTRACT
This chapter reviews the principles of diagnosis and therapy of seizures due mainly to primary and metastatic brain tumours. In treating seizures, certain key principles will be emphasized that are as applicable to the patient dying of a brain tumour as to the patient with chronic idiopathic epilepsy. Special considerations applicable to the dying patient, in particular the use of benzodiazepine and phenobarbitone infusions, are discussed.
