ABSTRACT

Hepatic hemangiomas have been accurately diagnosed using scintigraphy with Tc99-labelled red cells;45 this is helpful to evaluate vascularization and plan therapy. It may be used selectively for detection and follow-up of maxillofascial hemangioma.68 Indium platelet scintigraphy has been successfully used to demonstrate platelet trapping in Kasabach-Merritt syndrome.69 Complications in hemangiomas such as Kasabach-Merritt syndrome and congestive cardiac failure will need additional appropriate investigation to be performed.
