ABSTRACT

The gas quenching is a modern, effective processing technology. On the basis of non-linear surface heat-transfer coefficient obtained by Ref. [1] during the gas quenching, the temperature field of 9SiCr alloy steel during gas quenching was simulated by means of finite element method. In the numerical calculation, the thermal physical properties were treated as the functions of temperature. The obtained results show that the non-linear effect should be considered in numerical simulation during gas quenching.
