ABSTRACT: The wheel-rail contact status ofTranslohr tram which running on shanghai. Through the analysis of its guide mechanism and the investigation of guiding rail wear on the running line, two steady guiding wheel-rail contact statues are concluded. Ignoring position changes of contact points, guiding wheel-rail contact can be modeled by 4 unilateral springs. According to the structural characteristics of the vehicle, a dynamic model with the power bogie as a Dummy body to simplify the mechanical model of four-rod linkage is established. It shows that simulation results are well consistent with the measurement results of the steering capability of Zhangjiang tram in Shanghai. The reason for the existence of the small curve is explained adequately.
