ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: This paper deals with the automobile tire sensing by Quasi-Electrostatic Field (QEF) technology, which regard the contact phenomena between tire and road surfaces as electrical phenomena. In passive method, the difference of dry road and wet road was able to be detected as a difference of voltage to the run of the vehicle. Furthermore, in the tire testing machine, it succeeded in detection of the unusual tire of a tread block chip. On the other hand, in active method, it was shown experimentally that the QEF which reflected the contact state by attaching a piezoelectric device marker to a tire inner side is detectable by no supplying electric power and wireless. The tendency of the contact length by load and tire pressure was able to be read in the measurement value.
