ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Within the scope of this paper the estimation methods for vehicle yaw moment of inertia in dynamic situations without the help of Wheel Force Sensor and with them are discussed and tested. The influencing factors on the amplitude and the phase of the result in frequency domain are shown in vehicle dynamic simulation. After conducting the dynamic driving tests, the estimation method is validated. The direct method using Wheel Force Sensor has proven to be a proper way to estimate the vehicle yaw moment of inertia.
