ABSTRACT
Introduction The Amplatzer patent foramen ovale (PFO) occluder (AGA Medical Corporation, Golden Valley, Minnesota, USA) is a derivative of the Amplatzer atrial septal defect occluder. It consists of two flat self-expandable retention disks interconnected by a short, thin, and flexible waist. The disks are formed by 0.005 inch nitinol wire and filled with polyester fabric (Dacron). The currently available sizes are depicted in Figure 31.1.
