You are a year 3 specialist registrar (SpR) and your consultant’s secretary has asked you to prioritize some letters from the local general practitioners to the most appropriate clinic. You have 15 minutes to read the letters and outline your plan for each referral as follows:
• nature of the presenting complaint • allocation of each case to the most appropriate clinic • prioritization of each case • suggest any additional investigations that should be done prior to the
patient’s visit in order to enhance the patient journey • give reasons for your comments.
