Dementia and its relationship with sexuality raises many significant medical, ethical, cultural and relationship issues. Our sexuality is one of the most basic elements of our humanity. With an ageing population and associated increases in numbers of individuals affected by dementia, this relationship will only increase in its relevance. This chapter addresses some of these complex issues and reviews this most challenging and wide-ranging area.
