ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION A complete infertility workup is a prerequisite before a treatment plan can be developed. The workup has changed dramatically over the years. In the past, the testing could span several months and entailed numerous tests that in retrospect were unreliable and are now considered unnecessary. Presently, the workup is streamlined, focused, and can be completed within a month so that treatment can be started expeditiously. This chapter reviews the approach to the workup of the infertile couple.
