ABSTRACT

When performing oophorectomy, ureteral injury or occlusion can occur in this area during ligation or coagulation of the infundibulopelvic ligament. All the discussed dissection techniques are safely used in this area to the surgeon’s great advantage to see and isolate the ureter, great vessels, and obturator nerve. These same techniques are essential for sampling and excision of the lymph nodes along the common, external, and internal iliac vessels.
