ABSTRACT
Asia is the most populous region on earth, with more than half the world’s people. Asia contains the world’s two most populated countries, China and India, together with Japan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, all of which have large populations. During most of the 20th century, the population of Asia grew at a faster rate than the world average.
