ABSTRACT
Computing technology has finally reached a point where many more physical and behavioral attributes are becoming available for identification. Established techniques include fingerprint recognition, hand geometry, and retinal scanning. Emerging technology ranges from the surprisingly obvious — iris-scanning — to the stunningly arcane — human scent analysis. When combined with other security schemes, biometric technology offers a strongly reliable means for authenticating individuals.
