ABSTRACT
This chapter summarizes the history of moral issues surrounding the use of laboratory animals in research, provides an introduction to moral theories for animal protection, identifies some specific ethical concerns commonly found in laboratory animal facilities, and reviews practical methods for managing and resolving ethical concerns.
