This chapter is not intended to review every microbiological method in detail for testing disinfectants and decontaminants. There are entire books and scientific journals dedicated to the subject. Instead, the intent of this chapter is to outline some of the better choices for characterizing these materials, both for product development and for end users, provide references, and outline some of the pitfalls to avoid.
