ABSTRACT
A large body of information is available on the liver disease profile of the Fischer 344 rat and the B6C3F1 hybrid mouse (9}. Similar data are available on the second most widely used strain of rat, the Sprague-Dawley, favored by many pharmaceutical companies, as shown in Tables 2 and 3. Data in these tables illustrate the significance of spontaneous liver tumors (10, 11).
