ABSTRACT
This review discusses the special need for luteal support in assisted reproduction and the options currently available to provide this support. After a review of the differences between natural cycles and those seen in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) (stimulated and programmed), the elements (E and P), timing, and route of replacement are reviewed. Lastly, standard protocols for replacement are provided.
