Food safety It is 3:00 a.m. Amy’s intimate companion for the last ninety minutes has been her toilet. She has been intermittently spewing from both ends and feels horrible. The intense stomach cramps have just let up, but she is so nauseous she’s afraid to venture out of the bathroom. Her condition did not give much warning. What has she done to deserve this? She hasn’t eaten for hours, and she only had two glasses of wine! She tries to think what she ate that made her so sick! It couldn’t have been the grilled chicken salad. Salads are healthy. She’d baked up fresh cookies for dessert, but not as many as she had planned. She and her roommates had consumed about half of the raw dough that afternoon. It was tasty. Oh no, here comes another vicious cramp!
