Evaluation of Warning Effectiveness
Warning labels and signs are developed and deployed for a variety of reasons, including safety (e.g. accident prevention), regulatory (e.g. compliance with requirements), and liability (e.g. conformity to recommended practices or guidelines). For such purposes, warnings may be evaluated based on how well they conform with the relevant requirements, standards, or guidelines. Effectiveness, on the other hand, concerns how well a warning achieves the goal of affecting the end user in some way, usually to improve safety.
