ABSTRACT

We concentrate on the last of these, in recognition of the fact that the long-term survival of the company is critically dependent on this process. The company’s mediumterm survival is also significantly affected by this. Major re-engineering of business processes must be undertaken as an ongoing strategy. In turn, this points to the need for a generic process for capability acquisition to enable a collection of both large and small projects to be managed efficiently and concurrently. It is necessary to provide those persons charged with the acquisition and insertion of new capability with a process for executing these responsibilities in these respects, both with regard to the technological aspects and the organizational aspects of the capability.
