ABSTRACT

The value creation process within an enterprise is dominated by the systematic application of information and knowledge. This problem has gained a particular interest in the field of occupational health and safety (OHS). New regulations compel companies to systematically document OHS data. Due to the fact that not only specific departments of an enterprise are affected by these regulations, OHS-related data must be documented and managed comprehensively for the entire enterprise. OHS information systems in enterprises should serve to document individual aspects and provide support, with respect to the necessary comprehensive documentation, as well as for the planning and reorganization of work systems.
