ABSTRACT

Since the purpose of a warehouse is to store material, the principal product of a warehouse is space. is o–en results in the requirement that loads be stacked high and be tightly packed together. ese operational conditions combined with the fast work pace resulting from the piecework incentive pay programs result in an occupational setting in which the primary risk factors for back and musculoskeletal injuries exist: high loads, awkward postures, and high repetition.
