ABSTRACT
In the last few years, sleep researchers focused their attention on pediatric
neurologic diseases and mainly on specific neuropsychiatric syndromes such as
Down, Fragile-X, Rett, Prader-Willi, Angelman, Tourette, or autism, attention-
deficit disorders, tuberous sclerosis, etc. (1). However, extensive and compre-
hensive studies on sleep disorders in children with neurologic diseases are
scarce: developmental disorders, epilepsies, and organic brain syndromes con-
stituted more than 35% of total cases of children referred to a neuropsychiatric
center for sleep problems (2).
