ABSTRACT

Human Resource Management (HRM) professions have expanded significantly in direct response to the needs faced by modern organizations. It is not unreasonable to assume that as new needs or requirements move into the workplace, the role of the HRM office will expand in response. Moreover, it is not only likely but probable that the training and expertise of tomorrow’s HRM professionals would become broader to deal with the range of new requirements and expectations. Nowhere is this move more likely than when private organizations begin to operate outside the terrestrial environment. Working on the Moon or in orbital space will provide some unique challenges.
