Water conservation practice and policies in the U.S.

The United States is blessed in general with ample water resources, with the exception of sections which suffer shortages of rainfall. Where these shortages occur it has been a general policy to invest in water projects to transport large quantities of water to these areas. Recently, however, there has been an interest in the possibility of encouraging conservation and in some water short area, various types of wastewater reuse are being practiced.
