ABSTRACT

Severe droughts have recently been suffered either in Spain or abroad, they have shown the value of water as a scarce but indispensable resource.

Different works have already deepened into the consequences of an uncontrolled use of natural resources. The ‘growing syndrome’ (Schilling et al., 1998), typical in modern society and based on a constantly increasing consumption of goods and resources, will not maintain a sustainable situation in the medium and long term. In the case of water, whose wasteful use can delay its regeneration in excess, may turn out to be even worse.
