ABSTRACT

With the development of cleaning and manufacturing processes comes the potential for introducing hazards that may a£ect the health or safety of workers. ¢is chapter is intended to provide those involved in industrial and critical cleaning with an awareness of the various hazards, with major risks imposed by those hazards, and with approaches to recognize, manage, and minimize those risks. Given the number of variables and the site-speci©c requirements of critical cleaning processes, rather than attempt to provide speci©c “recipes” for safety, the approach is to educate and guide the user as he or she addresses the challenges of protecting the health and safety of workers who use cleaning processes.
