ABSTRACT
Traditionally, the monumentality of modern construction has been obtained mainly in quantitative terms, with great heights and wide spans, as a memory of an archaic aspiration towards the colossal scale. Today, however, the monumental expression of contemporary architecture is more related to its non nonlinear, unconventional, non-standard character than to its dimension.
