Reconversion process of an old building into a modern commercial center

The successful reconversion of an existing building is something to be celebrated. The example presented here creates a new commercial space, which remained forgotten for a long time right in the city center. The old Commercial Center Metecom is located at the intersection of Iuliu Maniu Street with Stefan cel Mare Street in the central area of the city of Satu Mare. According to the building’s permit, the facade on the Stefan cel Mare Street, part of the general city center urban layout, had to be kept unchanged. A series of constrains also resulted from the building’s location and given site plan (see Figure 1.), where the access was permitted only through the entrance from Iuliu Maniu Street (Figure 2.).
