ABSTRACT
In the various projects reviewed we know that wood is chosen as a renewable construction material regarding zero kilometers philosophy or eco-architecture targets, but especially for its weight, that represent one of the most important thing when we built a new volume on existent structure. Wood can be seen as the most suitable material for this kind of building transformation. Despite technical advantages, wood offers the opportunity to guarantee both a reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions, by using a renewable resource, and the costing control, by using industrialized system, during the entire construction process.
