ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the utilization of collagen jelly as one of several possibilities of leather waste reprocessing. In the frame of experimental research, soluble collagen was used as a modifier for polycondensation adhesives composition. Based on the results it can be said, that collagen has a significant influence on basic properties of ureaformaldehyde (UF) and phenol-formaldehyde (PF) adhesives and also on mechanical and physical properties of glued joints.
