According to the data from CNNIC, China’s Internet penetration increased from 42.1% in 2012 to 45.8% at the end of 2013. By the end of 2013, China had 618 million Internet users, among whom 500 million users surf the Internet via mobile phones. In China, 90% of network users have at least 1 social media account, and the number of social media users amounts to 550 million.
