ABSTRACT
Fine-needle aspiration cytology only gives cytology; compared with histology, FNAC has a limited value. Cytology gives an idea about the cell type. FNAC is an invasive method and is helpful in breast and thyroid lumps and in lymphadenopathy. In certain situations, FNAC needs to be carried out under CT or ultrasound guidance.
