ABSTRACT

Polyethylene and copolymers of ethylene with vinylacetate (EVA) and from the beginning of the twenty-first century copolymers of ethylene with vinyl acetate and maleic anhydride (SEVAMA) are commonly used as the main ingredients of hot melt adhesives, which determine the cohesive strength, heat resistance, processing conditions, and the use of the composition. It is known that aminoalkoxysilanes and organosilanes containing glycidoxy groups are widely used in fiberglass and paint industries, improving the adhesion of different polymers and coatings (acrylic, alkyd, polyester, and polyurethane) to inorganic substrates (glass, aluminum, steel, etc.). Therefore, increase of the adhesive strength of the compositions based on polyolefins and these organosilanes to various substrates (steel, aluminum) is to be expected.
