ABSTRACT

Because of its rich vascular supply, the stomach is difficult todevascularize.Theblood supply comes from the left gastric artery; the right gastric and gastroepiploic arteries, which originate from the hepatic artery; and the left gastroepiploic and short gastric arteries, which originate from the splenic artery. Parasympathetic innervation comes from the terminal branches of the left and right vagi. Sympathetic fibers of the celiac plexus are distributed along the stomach.
