ABSTRACT
The pelvic splanchnic nerves (S2-S4) are parasympathetic sensory and motor to cervix, lower uterine segment, muscular stroma of prostate, distal urethra and bladder. The relative contribution of the two divisions of the autonomic nervous system to nociception in health and disease is unknown.
