ABSTRACT

Physical activity is associated with improved physical and mental wellbeing among children and adolescents [1]. The percentage of children meeting the current PA guidelines of at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) a day [1] is low in many European countries, the United States and Canada [2,3]. A large percentage of children and adolescents spend considerable amounts of time being sedentary [3], and exceed the recommendation of not more than two hours of screen time per day [4].
