ABSTRACT

An e-book is an electronic presentation of a conventional print book that is available online and can be read with a computer, e-book reader, or PDA (personal digital assistant). Readers turn to e-books for convenience and portability. The term e-book has several spellings, including Ebook and eBook. Adding to the confusion, some people refer to e-books as the actual text files or unencrypted HTML, whereas others use the term in reference to the reading device. Thus the term has been used to refer to hardware and software, as well as documents.
