ABSTRACT

Internet radio, sometimes called Web radio, is “radio without airwaves, which is to say it’s technically not radio” (Cartensen, 2000, p. 1). Because it can be accessed via the World Wide Web, Internet radio is available to most online computer users. In 1993, Internet Talk Radio became the first radio station to broadcast on the Internet, and was followed by the first full-time, Internet-only station, Radio HK, in 1995.
