ABSTRACT

There is a clear tendency in the eld of drug delivery toward the increase in macromolecular therapeutic agents, demonstrated both in the scientic literature and in the number of products going through the approval process in regulatory agencies.1 However, the delivery of these actives continues to be mostly through injectable formulations.2,3 The issues associated with this delivery route known are,4,5 and this has always driven the research for nding alternative and more convenient routes of delivery.
