One of the reasons that there has been so much confusion and disagreement regarding the free energies of hydrolysis of "energy-rich" compounds of biochemical interest is that it is uncommon for any two workers to express their results according to the same nomenclature and conventions. The following summary may be helpful in making use of these tables of free energies of hydrolysis and decarboxylation.
