ABSTRACT
Several techniques for both patient immobilization and image guidance have been developed that make possible hypofractionation on the GK without compromising the historic precision characteristic of gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS). is chapter explores the logistics, limitations, and future potential of frameless image-guided HSRT using the Gamma Knife Perfexion with the eXtend™ system (Elekta Instruments AB, Stockholm, Sweden). Additional potential HSRT platforms are explored in subsequent chapters.
