ABSTRACT

In this contribution we develop the constitutive relations for laminated shells. The originality of this study is the underlying 6-field theory of shells, see for example Chrós´cielewski & Witkowski (2006) and references given therein. In the considered formulation, every point of the shell reference surface M possesses six degrees of freedom of a rigid body as in Cosserat or micropolar continuum. Therefore, our strain measures, being similar to linear strain measures of Cosserat continuum cf. for instance Mindlin (1965) or Nowacki (1986), are not symmetric.
