Application of discrete Fourier series in the boundary value problems of plates and shells

In increasing the number of points, where the tabular values of auxiliary functions are calculated, the discrete Fourier series will progressively differ smaller from usual one (Fichtengol’ts 1949).

In solving applied problems, in most cases practically only a few of the first members of a discrete series are used since Fourier coefficients quickly drop. Then the effect of remote harmonics decreases in a similar way.
