ABSTRACT

Formulation of the element DCT takes its origin in the concept of approximation of the flexural state (DKT element). Primary is the 6-node plate triangular element of R-M type with the nodes situated in the vertices and centers of the triangle sides. In the local Cartesian system of coordinates {xi} ≡ {x, y; z}, with the z coordinate in the thickness direction, the three independent variables of the plate theory w, θx and θy are heterogeneously interpolated in different manners. Deflection w is interpolated according to the Hermite rule of the class C1

The rotations θx, θy are interpolated by the Lagrange interpolation rule of the class C0:

In the formulae (2), Ni are the shape functions of the six-node triangular element. The shape functions H 0k , H

1 xk , H

1 yk in the equation (1) are of a symbolic

meaning only, and they are not applied directly in the element formulation.
