ABSTRACT

calibration procedures and algorithms have been developed and more user friendly post processing software has been made available. Therefore, in the following paragraphs, first LIDARs (Light Detection and Ranging) are discussed as a system. Then functioning and performances of key units are explained, tables of commercial airborne and terrestrial LIDARs are presented and the application possibilities are discussed.
