QP2, as shown in Figure 59.2, is structurally similar to paclitaxel, but it has greater lipophilicity and cellular retention.1 These properties allow QP2 to pass easily through the cell membrane and sustain its activity in and around treated cells. In the cell, QP2 works by inhibiting microtubule formation,2 and blocking cell division.3
