ABSTRACT
According to him, blasting operation is one of the major causes in any opencast mining which alter the rock mass characteristics and stress conditions. He observed wedge slope failure due to repeated opening of horizontal joints on the bench. This incident occurred just after the heavy blast which indicates the seismic effect of blasting on slopes.
